Meet Shauna Dawn Paynter, BSc, PDPP MA, ACS, CCC-S
Clinical Supervisor • Transpersonal Practitioner • Neurodiversity Specialist
Shauna Dawn Paynter is the visionary force behind Safe & Sound Therapeutics Inc. and Safe & Sound Supervision—a space where professional development is rooted in depth, presence, and purpose. With over a decade of experience in private clinical practice and 16 years as an educator and mentor, Shauna brings a uniquely integrated approach to supervision—one that blends neuroscience, somatic awareness, spiritual inquiry, and relational attunement.
Supervision That Nourishes Your Roots
Shauna offers person-centred, humanistic supervision grounded in the belief that healing and professional growth emerge from the inside out. Her approach honours each supervisee as a whole person—body, mind, and spirit—and integrates the wisdom of Carl Rogers, Irvin Yalom, Dr. Daniel Siegel, Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. James Hollis, and Jungian and transpersonal psychology.
Supervision sessions with Shauna are relational, experiential, and deeply reflective—supporting you in developing both clinical skill and professional identity. Whether you're a student, new graduate, seasoned clinician, or supervisor-of-supervisors, Shauna meets you at your growth edge with compassion, insight, and fierce care.
Areas of Specialization
Shauna brings particular expertise in:
-
Neurodiversity, including Autism Spectrum and ADHD (in both children and adults)
-
Workplace mental health, team culture, and consultation for complex organizational systems
-
Supporting families navigating neurodivergence and divorce
-
Integrating somatic, spiritual, and creative approaches in both therapy and supervision
Depth-Informed, Integrative Practice
Shauna’s approach to supervision is grounded in the science of interpersonal neurobiology, the power of somatic awareness, and the art of human connection. Drawing on frameworks from transpersonal psychology, Jungian depth work, and embodied learning, she supports practitioners in expanding their clinical intuition, refining their professional identity, and developing greater emotional and nervous system literacy.
Supervision becomes a space where the technology of the body—its signals, sensations, and rhythms—is honored as a guide for insight, attunement, and growth. Through reflective dialogue and experiential exploration, supervisees are invited to embody their full potential as grounded, effective, and self-aware practitioners.
