Our Origin Story
Safe & Sound Therapeutics was born from a mother’s love — a fierce, unwavering commitment to creating a safe haven for families navigating the complexities of autism, ADHD, and neurodivergence. As a parent to neurodivergent children, our founder Shauna Paynter knows firsthand the heartache of feeling misunderstood by systems, the weight of constant advocacy, and the deep longing for care that truly sees the whole child — and the whole family.
What began as a personal mission has blossomed into a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming group practice that welcomes families with open arms. Here, you're not just managing behaviour — you're finding hope, connection, and a path forward rooted in empathy, evidence-based tools, and relational safety.
Today, under Shauna’s guidance as a Canada-wide clinical supervisor and therapist, our team brings together clinicians who blend lived experience with deep professional expertise. We use a family systems approach, science-backed strategies, and a compassionate lens to support children and teens with autism, ADHD, and AuDHD, while also walking alongside parents, siblings, and caregivers.
This is more than therapy. It's a sanctuary for healing, empowerment, and remembering that you are not alone.
