The gut - brain axis
Did you know that the gut-brain axis is the communication system between the brain and the gut?!
These two organs are connected both physically and biochemically; physically by a nerve called the vagus nerve and biochemically by neurotransmitters.
The vagus nerve is an important highway that nerves travel to and from the gut-brain axis and plays a role in stress while neurotransmitters are produced in the brain to control feelings and emotions.
Additionally, the gut-brain axis is connected though the immune system. There are many microbes present in the gut and their job is to control inflammation as well as play an important role in the immune system function.
Next time you’re sick or not feeling well, think about adding some gut friendly products to help out your immune system!
