Stress and thinking

 

In a recent article on Psychology Today, the author, Becky Diamond speaks about how the stresses she is feeling are affecting her kids and their behavior. She reminds us that we are not alone in thinking this and research proves this. In a recent survey, titled Stress in America, the American Psychological Association found that worries over war, finances and COVID have caused “unprecedented levels of stress.”

So how does one cope and not have the daily stresses affect children? One way to manage stress is flexible thinking. Next time something that doesn’t go your way or is challenging, instead of thinking of it like a catastrophe, create flexibility in your thinking and this will in turn build resilience.
