Something to think about
Did you know that today is World Water Day?! It’s a day to shed light on the importance of fresh water and raise awareness that there are still people living without access to safe water. Additionally, it's a day about taking action to tackle this global water crisis and be mindful of how much water you use/consume.
Check out these three easy ways to reduce your water consumption.
- Decrease your meat intake - Did you know that eating a steak dinner for two requires 15,000 liters of water just for the meat alone?! Meat and dairy industries have been the single greatest factor for water consumption in the past 30 years. Ditch those two food groups once or twice a week to cause a huge impact!
- Slash that heated water use - Think of it as a 2 for 1 when you wait until your washing machine and dishwasher are full before running them or cutting your shower back 10 minute because you’ll not only conserve water and energy, you’ll also save some money.
- Garden smarter not harder - Spring has sprung and as garden season is approaching it’s important to remember to water outdoor plants in the early morning or at the end of the day to stop water immediately evaporating in sunlight and heat.
