Imposter syndrome
Ruth Gotian Ed.D., M.S., invites us to change our mindset to the thought process of earning imposter syndrome. She states that since you worked hard, put the time in and experienced a number of rejections and failures, you finally succeeded. Maybe this feeling of success is so unknown that your body defends itself by coping with imposter syndrome?
Take the win! Embrace the good things that come your way after all the blood, sweat and tears you put in. Overcome the self-deprecating behaviors and realize you are good at what you do. This may be hard but it is doable. Celebrate the successes instead of tallying up your inadequacies.
Additionally, by genuinely caring about what kind of work you do and the work you put out, performance anxiety is normal as you want to take pride in your work.
