Disconnect from technology and connect with nature

Have you heard of the term “de-ther from digital connectivity?” Neither have I until today! In an article posted by Virginia Thomas Ph.D. on Psychology Today, she explains that research has shown that getting outside when you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed can calm the nervous system. Especially nowadays when there are tons of messages, notifications, calls and tweets headed our way through our many electronic devices.

People are now taking the time and making the effort to disconnect from technology. They are striving to get outside in nature to decompress. This can mean that people desire to experience life without everyday technologies, especially their emails, texts and social media scrolling.

Try this out today! Take a 5-10 minute break after work or school and put down your phone when you head outside to enjoy nature.
