Do you ever feel when you get home from work or school the tasks that you have to do seem endless and daunting? But what would happen if you changed your mindset a bit? Or reframe your thoughts? (More on reframing in a later post)!
Next time, you have to do something like taking out the trash, making dinner, think of how Now You will affect Future You’s happiness. Now You holds the power to make Future You’s life a bit easier and more enjoyable. Remember to be kind to that Future You person! Instead of waiting until “after dinner” to do whatever chore you need to do, remind Now You that there is no better time than now to do that task. We all can make an educated guess that by procrastinating the task, you can guarantee that Future You will get a bit aggravated. If you have the ability to accomplish something now, do it!
By completing these small promises you made to yourself and crushing the tasks on your to-do list, this has an effect and will increase your self-confidence. Keep adding to that self-confidence fire by checking off at least one or two things on your to-do list on a daily basis.
As George Mitchell said, “If you do the very best you can, the future will take care of itself”
